hi, i'm fiver, the webmaster of cinemademon. it makes me feed it movies.
here is a list of robot-related movies that i like! AI, androids, and questions of personhood abound.
i've tried to focus on films with philosophical questions about the nature of robots and humanity.
killer robot movies can be found here.
1. ai: artificial intelligence (2001) ★ ★ ★
a movie that my parents thought would be fine to show me as a child. this movie is about an android in
the form of a young human child, who develops serious abandonment issues! watch if you're looking for cyber-dystopia
and emotional upheaval.

2. tau (2018) ★ ★
a pretty average netflix movie about a woman kidnapped by a tech CEO.
his house is run by an AI program which begins to gain sentience and ethical judgement. watch if you're looking for
something tense, but not necessarily 'good'.

3. ex machina (2014) ★ ★ ★ ★
i'm pretty ambivalent about alex garland at this point, but i loved this movie.
a guy is taken to a tech CEO's house to administer the turing test to his newest creation, 'ava'. she's pretty cool.
watch if you're looking for horrory suspense, clean cinematography, and the worst guy ever.

4. blade runner (1982) ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
a classic. i've really come around on this movie since i first watched it.
the film follows a cop/bounty hunter tasked with 'retiring' androids who have gone rogue. the 'tears in rain' monologue
is one of the most iconic moments in cinema history. watch if you haven't already!!!
